Frequently Asked Questions

Leaders of the church have had hundreds of conversations around this initiative.
We compiled some of the most common questions that we've answered for your benefits.

Above the questions, we added a video to walk you through the
features of the Commitment Card to help you through the process.
Why are we doing it now?
We believe God is leading us to grow a culture of generosity. We need additional space and resources to meet our ever-growing ministry needs. We desire to provide more opportunities to impact our community and grow God’s Kingdom.
Why do I have to write my name on the commitment card with an amount?
Our primary goal is 100% NCC participation. We are asking each family to make their kingdom-minded response. We can't see how we're progressing toward that ambition unless we know who has submitted a commitment. With that said, these cards are held with the same high level of confidentiality as your regular giving.
What if I make a commitment, and something happens, and I can’t finish it in two years?
You will never be asked where the funds are. When we write our commitments on the commitment cards, we are stating that, with God's help, this is our intention regarding what we will give.
If we raise the funds and we don’t end up buying land and building a new church what happens to the funds?
The expanded funds we have raised will be held for this purpose regardless. If necessary, we will all be part of the decision on how the funds will be redirected.
Are we working with a financial advisor to invest the funds until we use them?
We tend not to invest funds other than placing them in an interest-bearing account. The stock market can always take crazy turns, and we would not want to position the resources people give to honor God in that situation.
Who is going to have access to the commitment card information?
These cards are held with the same high level of confidentiality as your giving. No extra eyes are looking at these cards.
With the economy now, isn't it a hard ask to have people double their tithing contributions?
No one is being asked to give a specific amount. We are asking God what He wants each of us to give, and then we will commit and give that amount. God has brought our church into a season of growth, and He will provide through the faithfulness of His people in their giving.
What happens if we don't raise enough funds in two years?
Borrowing funds may be a component of laying a foundation for a new home for NCC. What we raise through this initiative positions us well to be able to plan for the future. The more we raise, the less we have to borrow.
What if I still have questions?
Pastor Bryce or Eric Easton would be more than happy to answer any questions. Reach out to the church office to connect with them.
