Care Team

Caring is the work of Christ’s hands and heart.

“The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.”
Psalm 29:11
Our CARE Ministry provides a God-centered, caring relationship to people in the church who are experiencing a life difficulty or crisis. We serve one another humbly and with compassion to bring comfort and hope.

NCC’s CARE Ministry coordinates with our Hospitality Ministry and the Prayer Ministry.

How can we help?

Mary Jo is our ministry lead for the Care Team. Twenty-five years ago, a friend invited her to Northway for an Easter event to introduce her to her future husband, Kurt. It has been their church home ever since. Mary Jo serves on the Children’s Team, including VBS Co-Director, Inconceivable Leadership Team, Website Team, Creative Team, Hospitality Team, and is a Sunday Morning Greeter and Announcer. She also enjoys participating in our Fearless Women’s Ministry and facilitates an E3 Small Group. Mary Jo and Kurt reside in Cogan Station. They have two children and three grandsons. She enjoys crafting, volunteering in her community, spending time with her family and friends while boating, camping, traveling, and relaxing at their cabin.
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

Chuck Stutzman

“Considerate it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking of anything.”
James 1:2-4
Pastor Chuck is our Care Team Lead for Pastoral Visitation. In 1976, Chuck was invited to Northway by his coworkers and has been attending ever since. He is convinced that the Free Methodist Church's doctrine and John Wesley's founding sacramental theology, which taught that it is by faith that a believer is transformed into the likeness of Christ, have been crucial to his walk with God. Pastor Chuck is an E3 Small Group Facilitator and participates in Men’s Ministry. Chuck and his wife, Kay, reside in Loyalsock. They have two children and five grandsons. He enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Chuck is the chairman of the Lycoming County Veterans Memorial Park, the treasurer of the Central PA Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Chaplain for the American Legion Post 1, and serves on the UPMC EMS hospital board.

Dawn Guerrisky

Dawn leads our weekly email Prayer Team. Dawn’s family was invited to Northway's outdoor Sunday service by her cousin in 2020. They value Pastor Bryce’s focus on the truth of God’s Word and Jesus. Dawn serves as a nursery volunteer and is on the VBS and Hospitality teams. She is involved in an E3 Small Group. She and her husband, Gary, reside in Duboistown. They have four children and eight grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, sewing, crafts, painting, watching their grandchildren play sports, and spending time with family and friends. Dawn is a local Little League press-box announcer and holds a CEF five-day neighborhood club outreach at her home every summer.
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9

Michele Crawford

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13

Michele came to Northway as the Lord spoke to her, saying, “This is where you will now go to church.” She obeyed. Michele serves on the Fearless Women’s Ministry leadership and the Inconceivable Leadership Team. She is an E3 Small Group Host and Co-Facilitator. Michele and her husband, Jim, reside in Williamsport. They have three children and six grandchildren. She enjoys home decorating, puzzles, and helping others.
